It was inspired by the format of the Design Maturity Survey, but by re-mediating the survey into a physical game-like model, it incorporated the social activity that was missing from the survey. The model includes a “game board”, a scorecard, seven different types of assessment cards, and about thirty different statement cards (inspired by, not copied from, the Artefact survey). The idea is to assess all the statements, using the valued assessment cards. When all statements have been assessed the design maturity score can be calculated by using the scoreboard. To combat this, the gym had initiated a gym introduction session, where one of the staff members showed new members how the gym equipment worked. However, after the session it was still clear that the beginners had trouble remembering all the details and instructions. This issue was also confirmed after talking to some of the beginner gym members. On the gym machines at this gym, there were images of the actual machines printed onto each machine, showing which mussels that were going to be engaged while using it. Almost everyone at the gym had their phone with them. To use an app to scan the machine for instructions, would not be that much of an inconvenience for the gym members. Beginners felt more confident using the machines after the introduction session. However, there was a slight barrier with using Aurasma as the application. New users had to first download the app, and then “subscribe” to Motiva’s channel in order to see the videos. People were also not quite comfortable with using AR at this time - the technology was still quite new. To combat these issues, we moved away from the use of Aurasma. Instead, we put the videos up on Motiva’s website, and then had the gym members access the videos by instead scanning QR codes on each machine. The result of this was that the gym members felt more comfortable with the technology. After a meeting with the CEO of Cypro, I started to brainstorm different digital solutions that could fit into the ideas that the company had. I also took a more in-depth look at the company’s rivals to get a feel of what was “trendy” in that business area, as well as to find ways to make Cypro stand out more with what they could offer their clients. The web analysis included things like imagery, choices of words, colors, layout, and features, as well as a more in-depth analysis of their Google rankings. Based on what I had gathered from the analysis, I started to sketch up some wireframes for the new web. I then used Adobe XD to make the frames interactive, so that I could present the design in a more fun yet effective way. To add more value behind Cypro’s keyword “Expertise”, I added a library on the site where their educators and personnel could upload white papers, case studies, and articles. I also added a chat and a “hotline” feature on the site, so that if clients really need to get in touch with them fast they can do so via those channels. And lastly, I added a customer support platform, where the clients could follow up on reports and tests done to their systems. The owner wanted a clean and minimalist design, so I went with a soft, line art inspired look and added some extra lines to make it look less like the Google Maps marker. Furthermore, a company page was set up on Facebook, Google+, Google My Business, and Instagram. On Facebook, the owner was encouraged to share information about nature, information about the book, ads for offered services, and information about upcoming events. Instagram could be used for that as well, however, it was encouraged to be used more as a tool to gain visibility, where the owner could post his images and tag them to spread his brand and gain followers.
